The tush push remains in play for at least another season. The NFL's competition committee decides against voting to ban the controversial maneuver at next week's league meetings in Arizona. Rich McKay, chair of the committee, notes reduced discussion surrounding the play. Last May, a proposal to outlaw it faced a 22-10 vote but fell short of the required 24 votes for approval. The Philadelphia Eagles utilized the tush push effectively during their 2024 Super Bowl run and in 2025. Other proposed rule changes are on the agenda, including contingency plans for potential replacement officials in 2026, allowing the replay center in New York to correct "clear and obvious" mistakes during a work stoppage. Additional tweaks to the kickoff rule and player ejections for unpenalized flagrant acts are also under consideration as the league gears up for the upcoming season.
