Alexis Carre secures the IOM World Championship title at Datchet Water Sailing Club with a stunning performance, winning his seventh race of the event. This victory marks a significant milestone in Carre’s sailing career and showcases his dominance throughout the competition.

The championship faced challenging conditions as a high-pressure system impacted the wind patterns, making racing difficult. Despite these hurdles, Principal Race Officer Peter Baldwin and the race team managed to set up multiple heats, allowing competitors to complete crucial races. Carre, previously disqualified in Race 17, rebounded strongly, finishing in the top six of Heat B and returning to Heat A.

At the climax of the event, after several attempts to start the race, the fleet finally launched just before the cutoff time. Carre's impressive performance during the week led to a commanding 40-point lead over defending champion Zvonko Jelacic. The French sailor's consistency and skill earned him praise, with 2011 champion Peter Stollery calling his sailing phenomenal.

In his own words, Carre described the moment as "incredible" and expressed his relief as the victory settled in. His calm demeanor throughout the competition highlighted his exceptional talent, sailing an Ian Vickers V12 designed yacht to glory.
