The 2026 Auckland Wooden Boat Festival kicks off Friday at 4:00 PM. This maritime showcase features contributions from fifty different groups, offering a rich tapestry of maritime storytelling at Jellicoe Harbour and three covered venues. Expect stunning A class vessels, Tuna boats, scows, steam boats, work boats, and art displays, including the iconic Bay Belle.
The festival runs through the weekend across four venues in Wynyard Quarter. Attendees receive a souvenir trail map and sticker upon entry. Prepare for Auckland's unpredictable weather—bring a water bottle, comfy shoes, a rain jacket, and sunscreen. You'll need to remove your shoes to board the boats. Arrive early or later in the day for the best experience. The nearest paid parking is at Jellicoe Carpark and Downtown Carpark. Don't forget to book your free seminar tickets in advance for engaging sessions throughout the event.
