Marco Bezzecchi shatters the MotoGP speed record, leading an all-Aprilia front row in qualifying for the Italian Grand Prix at Mugello. This performance shifts the momentum after Ducati dominated Friday's practice.

Bezzecchi sets a stunning lap time of 1m43.921s, marking the first-ever sub-1m44s lap at this circuit. Trackhouse rider Raul Fernandez finishes just 0.224s behind, while Jorge Martin secures third place after initially topping the field. Martin previously set the official MotoGP top speed record at 368.6km/h (229mph) in a practice session, benefiting from a slipstream.

Marc Marquez leads the Ducati charge in fourth but falters by following KTM's Pedro Acosta, losing valuable time in the third sector. Gresini Ducati's Fermin Aldeguer and factory teammate Pecco Bagnaia round out the top six, with Bagnaia's strategy of running alone on his second tire proving ineffective.

Notably, Fabio Di Giannantonio drops to seventh, hampered by using a spare bike. The Q2 field is tightly packed, with just 1.128s separating the competitors. Aprilia's Ai Ogura misses out on Q2 entirely, while Cal Crutchlow, standing in for Johann Zarco, finishes last despite improving his Friday time.
