Bodö/Glimt pulls off a monumental feat by eliminating Inter Milan in the Champions League playoffs. At the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium, the Norwegians secure a 2-1 victory, following a 3-1 win in the first leg. Before this match, Opta rated their chances of reaching the round of 16 at just 0.3%. This achievement marks a historic first: Bodö/Glimt becomes the first Norwegian team to qualify for the Champions League round of 16. Inter suffers an unprecedented elimination by a team not from one of the five major European leagues. Moreover, Bodö/Glimt is the first team outside the five major leagues to win four consecutive European Cup matches against opponents from those leagues since Ajax in 1971-1972. A night to remember for Norwegian football.
