Tyson Fury aims to step back into the ring for another fight before his highly anticipated clash with Anthony Joshua, as confirmed by promoter Frank Warren. This decision could reshape the dynamics leading up to their matchup later this year.
Fury, sporting a record of 35 wins, 2 losses, and 1 draw with 24 KOs, recently returned from retirement with a victory over Arslanbek Makhmudov on April 11. Meanwhile, Joshua, with a record of 29 wins and 4 losses, is set to face Kristian Prenga on July 25 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Warren stated, “I think he [Fury] will probably want to be doing something in between,” suggesting Fury is eager for another bout before facing Joshua.
Fury has publicly urged Joshua not to jeopardize their fight by taking on another opponent. Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, indicated that they prefer a tune-up fight following Joshua’s return from a serious car crash that took the lives of two friends. The long-awaited all-British heavyweight showdown has been officially scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026, although the venue and date remain unconfirmed, with expectations pointing towards the UK.
