The September 19 rematch between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao is confirmed as a professional fight, despite Mayweather's claims of it being an exhibition. Mayweather stirred controversy during a meet and greet at Caesar's Palace, stating uncertainty about the fight’s location and downplaying its nature.

Jas Mathur, CEO of Manny Pacquiao Promotions, fires back, asserting that Mayweather’s comments breach their contract. "The fight is still on. There is no termination," Mathur insists, highlighting that Mayweather has been in breach since his remarks. Discussions between the two camps reveal Mayweather's team pushing to change the bout to an exhibition, further complicating the situation.

Mathur points out a recent site visit to The Sphere, involving representatives from multiple promotions, reinforcing the seriousness of the planned event. Mayweather's proposed June exhibition with Greek kickboxer Mike Zambidis also violates the agreement to face Pacquiao.

Mathur notes that Mayweather has signed three agreements regarding the fight, receiving advances on his purse, affirming the commitment to a professional boxing match. Announced in February, Mayweather-Pacquiao 2 aims to leverage The Sphere's state-of-the-art technology for a groundbreaking sports and entertainment experience.
