Peter Fury trains Rico Verhoeven for his heavyweight title fight against Oleksandr Usyk in May. Fury confirms his role to ESPN and heads to the Netherlands for a three-month training camp. Usyk defends the WBC heavyweight title against Verhoeven, a kickboxer, on May 23 in Giza, Egypt. Verhoeven, a former kickboxing world heavyweight champion, vacates his belt to pursue boxing’s top tier. Peter Fury, uncle of Tyson Fury and father of Hughie Fury, has a rich history in the sport. He previously trained Tyson to a world championship victory over Wladimir Klitschko and has worked with Hughie and Savannah Marshall. Verhoeven has sparred with Tyson and Hughie at Fury's camps. Usyk, a three-time undisputed champion, returns to the ring after knocking out Daniel Dubois last year.
