Hamzah Sheeraz battles Alem Begic for the WBO super middleweight title on the Oleksandr Usyk vs. Rico Verhoeven undercard, set for May 23 at the Pyramids of Giza, Egypt. Ring Magazine announces the full undercard, featuring Jack Catterall's WBA "regular" welterweight title clash against Shakhram Giyasov. Catterall (32-2, 14 KOs) enters the ring fresh off a knockout victory over Ekow Essuman in November, showcasing his skills on the Conor Benn vs. Chris Eubank Jr. undercard. Rolly Romero holds the full WBA title at 147 pounds.
Sheeraz (22-0-1, 18 KOs) earned his title shot after a Round 5 knockout over Edgar Berlanga last July. He previously fought for the middleweight title in February 2025, drawing with Carlos Adames in Riyadh before moving up a weight class.
The card also highlights Cuban heavyweight Frank Sanchez facing rising American star Richard Torrez Jr. Torrez (14-0, 12 KOs), a silver medalist from the Tokyo Olympics, looks to extend his unbeaten streak against Sanchez (25-1, 18 KOs), whose only loss was to Agit Kabayel, the WBC interim titleholder, in May 2024.
