Damian Penaud and Yoram Moefana, the centers for Bordeaux-Bègles, are being managed carefully ahead of the Champions Cup Round of 16 against Leicester. On Wednesday, they did not participate in training, but were present on the sidelines for passing drills during the media session. Their manager, Yannick Bru, explains that it’s rare for a player to string together more than three consecutive matches without injury, which is why recovery management is essential. Penaud, who missed the Six Nations, recently played two matches in Top 14 in an unusual center position, while Moefana has been playing regularly with both the national team and his club. Bru indicates there’s a good chance we’ll see Moefana on the field on Sunday.

Matthieu Jalibert, back from vacation, joins the squad, along with flanker Marko Gazzotti, who has recovered from a back injury, and South African Jean-Luc Du Preez, who has overcome his concussions. However, seven players are absent: Ugo Boniface (nose), Cyril Cazeaux (thigh), Martin Page-Relo (pubalgia), Joey Carbery (knee), Nicolas Depoortere (injury), and Romain Buros (ankle). Valentin Hutteau is with the France U20 team.
