Champions League: Kimmich disputes the yellow card he received against Atalanta

Joshua Kimmich denies intentionally getting a yellow card during Bayern Munich's victory in Bergamo (6-1) in the Champions League. Suspended for the return match against Atalanta Bergamo, Kimmich received a warning for time-wasting before a corner in the 84th minute. His teammate Michael Olise, also facing suspension, picked up a yellow card for the same reason in the 77th minute. Kimmich, questioned after the match, states: "I was looking for a passing option. If the opponent hadn't rushed at me, I might not have gotten that card." This scenario recalls the case of Sergio Ramos in 2019, who admitted to having provoked his own card to avoid suspension for the return match. UEFA then sanctioned the Spanish defender with a two-match ban.
