PSG and Chelsea face off in the round of 16 of the Champions League, but injuries are piling up. Both teams, finalists in the Club World Cup, have had a packed schedule. Since July 1, 2024, Chelsea has played 109 official matches, tied with Real Madrid, while PSG has 105. Players like Trevoh Chalobah and Moises Caicedo at Chelsea, or Vitinha and Gonçalo Ramos at PSG, are among the few to escape injuries. The key players from both clubs have been heavily affected, impacting performance and confidence. PSG has recorded 121 matches missed by its starters this season, compared to just 51 last year. Chelsea, for its part, has seen 23 injuries between June and October 2025, a 44% increase from the previous year. However, the Blues have rejuvenated their squad with 11 new signings this summer.
