The 2026 St. Thomas International Regatta wraps up with vibrant spinnakers and fierce competition. Nearly 40 boats race across multiple classes from April 3-5, hosted by the St. Thomas Yacht Club. Sailors from the U.S. Virgin Islands, British Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, St. Maarten, and various U.S. states showcase the regatta's Caribbean prestige.
Class winners include Privateer, Cachondo, Papi, and Boogie Board Bandits. In the CSA Spinnaker Class, Privateer, helmed by Ron O'Hanley, clinches victory with a two-point edge over Puerto Rico's Enrique Figueroa on Exodus. Despite a gear failure in the final race, they maintain their lead. Puerto Rico's Juan Mari on Freelance secures third.
In the IC24 Class, consistency shines as Puerto Rico's Marco Teixidor leads Cachondo to victory, emphasizing teamwork and strategy over 15 races. The USVI's Teddy Nicolosi on Bill T takes second, while the BVI's INTAC, led by Mark Plaxton, finishes third.
St. Croix's Peter Stanton dominates the ISCA Class with his Sunfish, Papi, solidifying his legacy. The St. Thomas International Regatta continues to attract top talent, reinforcing the U.S. Virgin Islands' rich sailing tradition.
