Kamilla Aasebø, the 19-year-old rider from Uno-X Mobility, faces an extended rehabilitation after a harrowing crash at Paris-Roubaix Femmes left her with serious injuries. Here’s why her recovery journey is crucial for her future in cycling.

Aasebø suffered multiple fractures to her elbow and jaw, along with a brain hemorrhage that required emergency surgery. She spent ten days hospitalized in France, where her condition worsened unexpectedly. "Unfortunately, the bleeding on the brain became worse quite quickly," she shared. Aasebø is now back in Norway, recuperating at Ullevål Hospital, where her primary focus is regaining movement in her right leg, affected by partial paralysis from the brain injury.

In her Instagram update, Aasebø shared a photo of her scalp scar and expressed gratitude to the medical staff who supported her. Remarkably, she noted, "The crash itself was not especially dramatic. I was simply very unlucky with the outcome." As she begins her road to recovery, Aasebø remains hopeful and determined, stating, “One day, I will make it to the velodrome in Roubaix.” This determination underscores her resilience and passion for the sport, promising a compelling comeback story in the future.
