Abigail Miller, just 18 years old, claims her first elite victory at La Classique Morbihan in France. This win marks a significant milestone as she transitions from junior racing to the senior ranks with the UAE Development Team.
Miller, the youngest competitor in the race, showcased her exceptional sprinting ability, finishing ahead of club rider Eva Anguela (Cantabria Deporte - Rio Miera), who took second, and Valentine Fortin (Cofidis), who secured third. The race unfolded over a flat 111km route between Quiberon and Pluvigner, with a high pace maintained throughout.
The UAE Development Team played a strategic role in the peloton, initially supporting Erin Boothman, a pre-race favorite coming off a victory at the Festival Elsy Jacobs. However, it was Miller who stunned the field, achieving this win on her 10th race day of the season. UAE also saw success with Federica Venturelli finishing fourth, while Boothman placed 12th and defending champion Eline Jansen (VolkerWessels) took sixth.
As racing continues in France, the Grand Prix du Morbihan Féminin on Saturday promises to feature many of the same competitors, including the newly crowned champion, Abigail Miller.
