Jonas Vingegaard (Visma-Lease a Bike) enters the Paris-Nice as the top contender after his planned participation in the UAE Tour fell through due to a training crash and illness. This marks Vingegaard's first race of the season, but he remains a formidable force.
The eight-day race spans 1,245 kilometers from Achères to Nice, featuring a challenging route with an Ardennes Classics-style stage, a 24-kilometer team time trial, and three uphill finishes.
Key rivals include Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates-XRG), who shifts focus to Strade Bianche, and Primož Roglič (Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe), targeting Tirreno-Adriatico.
While the course avoids the Col d'Eze and Col des Quatre Chemins, it provides ample climbing opportunities for contenders to gain an edge. The competition heats up as Vingegaard leads a deep field of challengers.
