Jai Hindley and Giulio Pellizzari defy recent illness to make significant moves in the Giro d'Italia's general classification following Stage 14. This performance not only elevates their standings but also sets the stage for an exhilarating finish to the race.

Both riders from Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe faced a daunting challenge on the multi-climb mountain stage to Pila. Hindley finishes just nine seconds behind Felix Gall (Decathlon CMA CMG) and gains valuable time on Thymen Arensman (Netcompany Ineos), moving up to fifth overall, 3:43 behind leader Jonas Vingegaard (Visma-Lease a Bike) and only 52 seconds back from Gall. Pellizzari climbs three spots to sixth, now at 4:22.

Despite early struggles on the grueling 16.5km ascent, Pellizzari finds resilience, pushed on by teammate Ben Zwiehoff. When Vingegaard attacks with 4.6km to go, Pellizzari manages to distance several competitors while supporting Hindley’s chase of Gall.

After crossing the finish line, the duo reflects on their grit and determination. "The Giro is not over, we're going to give it our all," Pellizzari asserts, emphasizing their unwavering commitment as they head into the critical final stages of the race.
