Julian Alaphilippe withdraws from Liège-Bastogne-Liège and Eschborn-Frankfurt, prioritizing his health amid a challenging season. This decision could reshape the dynamics for Tudor Pro Cycling as they face significant setbacks.

The two-time World Champion's absence comes after a series of struggles, including an illness during the Tour of the Basque Country, where he did not start the final stage. His difficulties continued at the Amstel Gold Race, where he abandoned with over 80 kilometers remaining, and at La Flèche Wallonne, where he was dropped and subsequently withdrew.

Tudor Pro Cycling confirmed his withdrawal on Instagram, citing medical reasons and emphasizing the importance of a full recovery. With Alaphilippe sidelined, the team also grapples with the loss of Marc Hirschi, who suffered a collarbone injury during La Flèche Wallonne, leaving them without two former Liège podium finishers.

Alaphilippe's previous performances include finishes in second place in 2015 and 2021, and a controversial fifth in 2020. His next anticipated race is the Tour de France, set to begin on July 4 in Barcelona. The team hopes for a swift recovery for their star rider as they navigate this challenging period.
