Luke Lamperti of EF Education-EasyPost claims victory in stage one of Paris-Nice, marking the biggest win of his career. The 23-year-old sprinted ahead with a powerful lead-out from teammate Marijn van den Berg, securing his place at the front. Vito Braet finishes second, while Orluis Aular takes third. Milan Fretin and Biniam Girmay round out the top five.
This win is a major boost for EF Education-EasyPost, who have struggled this season, now leaving PicnicPostNL as the only World Tour team without a victory in 2026. Girmay faced challenges in the sprint, unable to find space to challenge Lamperti.
A crash inside the final 3km had riders on edge, but no time losses resulted from the incident. Lamperti will wear the yellow jersey in tomorrow's stage, with hopes high for continued success.
