Axel Laurance (Ineos Grenadiers) clinches victory in stage 4 of the Settimana Internazionale Coppi e Bartali, taking the overall lead with one day left. The French cyclist powered through the uphill finish in Valdobbiadene, outpacing overnight leader Mauro Schmid (Jayco AlUla) and Riccardo Lorello (S.C. Padovani Polo Cherry Bank).
Laurance, who previously won stage 1, now leads the general classification by two seconds over Schmid and ten seconds ahead of Tommaso Dati (Team UKYO).
The stage covered 159.6km, with a flat start before tackling two key climbs: Rolle and Combai. An early breakaway featured Filippo Agostinacchio (EF Education-EasyPost-Oatly) and Emanuele Ansaloni (Team Technipes #inEmiliaRomagna Caffè Borbone), but the peloton, led by Ineos Grenadiers, closed the gap, setting the stage for Laurance's decisive finish.
One final stage remains, a 165.5km route from Cormons to Gemona del Friuli.
