Merida unveils the Reacto V, its latest aero road bike, featuring a UCI illegal configuration meant for amateur use only. This launch follows the end of its partnership with Bahrain-Victorious, leaving Merida without a WorldTour team for 2027. The Reacto V showcases a striking design shift from the Reacto IV. Key highlights include a lighter frame, enhanced aerodynamics, and increased tyre clearance of 32mm, all while maintaining comfort and stiffness. The Reacto V sets a new standard, achieving 196 watts in the Tour Magazine wind tunnel test, surpassing competitors like the Simplon Pride and Storck Aerfast 5. The bike is available in multiple configurations, including the aero-focused 'Reacto One' with a Classified groupset. The 'Reacto 10K' and 'Reacto Team' versions come with SRAM Red and Shimano Dura-Ace 2x groupsets, respectively, offering weight savings at the cost of a few watts in performance.
