Paul Seixas scores a stunning victory, clinching his first WorldTour stage win and taking the leader’s jersey at Itzulia Basque Country. This triumph marks a significant milestone for the 19-year-old cyclist, who dominated the stage 1 time trial in Bilbao, finishing with a remarkable margin.

Seixas’ performance not only secured him the stage victory but also all classification jerseys, showcasing his dominance. His Decathlon CMA CGM team hailed the time trial as "flawless." Seixas expressed his excitement, stating, "I didn't expect to win by such a margin," highlighting his surprise at the scale of his victory.

Currently, he leads the general classification with a 23-second advantage over Kévin Vauquelin (Ineos Grenadiers) and 27 seconds over Felix Großschartner (UAE Team Emirates-XRG). Two-time champion Primož Roglič (Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe) trails by 28 seconds. Former race winners Juan Ayuso (Lidl-Trek) and Ion Izagirre (Cofidis) are 51 and 61 seconds behind, respectively, while Tirreno-Adriatico winner Isaac del Toro (UAE Team Emirates-XRG) sits 1:16 back.

This victory is a testament to Seixas’ hard work in a discipline he loves, proving he’s a rising star in the cycling world.
