The Trofeo Alfredo Binda in Cittiglio is underway, featuring a challenging 146km route after modifications due to overnight snow. The race kicks off with a neutral rollout from Luino, followed by tough climbs and a series of laps, including the key ascents at Casale and Orino.
Elisa Balsamo (Lidl-Trek), a previous three-time winner, is absent today, preventing her from challenging the record of four wins held by Marianne Vos (Visma-Lease a Bike), who is in the race and could secure her fifth victory.
The course features over 2,300m of elevation gain, ideal for climbers and punchy sprinters alike. Today's weather remains dry, with temperatures around 13ºC and mild winds. This marks the sixth event of the Women’s WorldTour, following an intense Strade Bianche. Racing is officially underway!
