The Tour de Romandie and Tour de Romandie Féminin face uncertainty beyond 2027 without a title sponsor. Organizers report a 10% budget shortfall on their €4.5 million target for this season. Both races will proceed this year, but the future remains unclear.
Race director Richard Chassot states, "Finding a main sponsor for this edition is almost mission impossible." The urgency for financial support is palpable. Chassot emphasizes that all promotional materials for this year are already printed, with limited options for new advertising.
The 79th edition of the men’s race is scheduled for April 28 to May 3, featuring star riders Tadej Pogačar and Primož Roglič. The women’s race will run from September 4-6. Without a new sponsor, maintaining the races at the WorldTour and Women’s WorldTour levels is unlikely.
Previously, Vaudoise Assurances and Le Maréchal supported the event, but with current funding challenges, the Tour de Romandie Foundation lacks the reserves to sustain multiple future editions without a financial lifeline. Chassot highlights the critical need for a sponsor to ensure the races can continue in the coming years.
