Vingegaard, a pre-race favorite, aimed for additional time bonuses at the Red Bull Kilometre but fell short. With 6, 4, and 2 seconds available for the top three finishers, Vingegaard launched a sprint 11km from the finish. His team, Visma-Lease a Bike, set up a solid lead-out through Victor Campenaerts. However, Giulio Pellizzari of Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe surged ahead, followed closely by Jan Christen from UAE Team Emirates-XRG, who ultimately claimed victory. Vingegaard finished fourth, just behind Pellizzari and Christen, missing out on any bonus time.
This missed opportunity allows Pellizzari to overtake Vingegaard in the general classification, putting him four seconds ahead.
