Day 2 of the Paignton Open for Single Handed Dinghies (POSH) kicks off with RS Aero 9 and RS Vareo sailors racing an hour early to complete four races. Sailors face a challenging wind situation, starting with a 12-13 knot breeze but dwindling to just 4-5 knots by day's end.
Nick Craig from Frensham/Burghfield leads the RS Aero 9 fleet, closely pursued by Joe Jones and Tim Hire. In the RS Vareo category, a fierce competition unfolds, with Michelle Collier-Brooks (Oxford SC), Stuart Bailey (Wilsonian/Medway SC), and Zak Mitchell (Paignton SC) all tied on points. Michelle holds the lead based on countback.
The handicap fleet completes three races, with Jack Miller (Felpham) at the top, also leading the RS Aero category. Nick Ripley (Paignton SC) stands out as the first Blaze, while David Smart (Chew Valley SC) leads the RS100 class.
