Makai Lemon's NFL Draft night takes a dramatic turn as the Philadelphia Eagles swoop in to select him with the No. 20 pick, just moments after he speaks with the Pittsburgh Steelers. This unexpected twist could reshape the Eagles' receiving corps for the upcoming season.
Lemon, the standout USC Trojans wide receiver, thought he was heading to Pittsburgh when the Eagles executed a trade with the Dallas Cowboys to jump ahead in the draft. "I guess it was meant to be. I'm super excited to be in Philly," Lemon said in a post-draft press conference. To move up, the Eagles sent picks No. 23, 114, and 137 to Dallas, along with securing a 2027 seventh-round pick.
Lemon's selection comes after an impressive season where he recorded 79 receptions for 1,156 yards and 11 touchdowns, showcasing his elite talent. He joins a Philadelphia receiving group that includes DeVonta Smith, Marquise Brown, and Dontayvion Wicks.
