In the semi-final, he secured victory, setting the stage for a showdown in the final. Pilloni finished second, only behind Australia's Grae Morris, a seasoned Olympic silver medallist. China's Kun Bi rounded out the podium in third.
The competition was fierce, with challenging winds and swells testing all athletes. Pilloni’s silver medal comes just a year after he transitioned to the senior category, emphasizing his rapid ascent in competitive sailing. His strong showing in Hyères follows a tenth-place finish at the World Cup during the Princesa Sofia Trophy in Palma de Mallorca, confirming his upward trajectory.
