Cadillac enters the Canadian Grand Prix with a surge of optimism after a significant performance boost in Miami. The team's recent upgrades for the MAC-26 signal a turning point as they aim to capitalize on their momentum in Montreal.
The results in Miami may not have reshuffled the standings dramatically, but confidence within the Cadillac garage has soared. Team Principal Graeme Lowdon emphasizes the team’s progress, noting, “We introduced our first major upgrade package, which resulted in a notable increase in performance." Both cars finished well in Miami, and two of their pit stops ranked among the top 10 fastest of the weekend.
Sergio Pérez feels encouraged by the upgrades, stating, "We had improved pace from the start, and we showed our ability to bring major upgrades that delivered on track." He believes that refining their current performance can bring them closer to the competition.
The Circuit Gilles Villeneuve presents a new challenge, with its tight walls and heavy braking zones demanding precision. As Valtteri Bottas puts it, “This weekend will be a new challenge for us… we will have to get up to speed quickly because of the Sprint format.” Cadillac is eager to stitch together their flashes of progress into a cohesive performance in Montreal.
