Franco Colapinto downplays a heated exchange with Flavio Briatore in the latest season of Drive to Survive. The Alpine F1 Team rookie faced Briatore’s intense criticism after replacing Jack Doohan mid-season in 2025. Briatore’s blunt assessment of the team's struggles is captured on camera, with the Italian boss stating, “You are the problem… you have to improve your performance.” Colapinto, however, remains unfazed by the drama. Ahead of the 2026 season opener in Melbourne, he emphasizes his focus on improvement rather than the heat of the moment. “I haven't watched it… when you drive and you're in the paddock, you live and know everything that happens,” he says. Colapinto acknowledges Briatore’s tough approach, stating, “There is normally a reason for it.” He views the experience as a valuable lesson in the high-pressure world of Formula 1, framing it as part of the learning curve for any young driver.
