Doriane Pin makes history as the first woman to drive a modern Mercedes F1 car during her maiden test at Silverstone. This groundbreaking moment isn’t just a personal triumph; it signifies a major step for female representation in Formula 1.
Pin, the 2025 F1 Academy champion, completed 76 laps in the 2021-spec Mercedes W12, covering over 200 kilometers. For her, this experience transcends data analysis and lap times. "Driving an F1 car for the first time today was unreal," she says, expressing gratitude for the opportunity and the incredible team supporting her.
The challenge of transitioning to Formula 1 is immense, yet Pin embraced it, building confidence with each lap. "The W12 is really different; everything is bigger and more powerful," she notes.
