The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is extending its partnership with Formula 1 and will host three new Grands Prix in 2028, 2030, and 2032. This is an official announcement from F1. The Catalan track will alternate with Spa-Francorchamps, which will be on the calendar in 2027, 2029, and 2031. Currently, the Barcelona circuit, located in Montmelo, will continue to host the Spanish GP until 2025, before the arrival of the new Madrid circuit, the "Madring," starting next September. This circuit is favored by drivers and teams for testing. Stefano Domenicali, CEO of Formula 1, expressed his excitement about continuing this collaboration. European races are facing increased competition with new projects popping up around the world, while historic circuits like Imola are disappearing from the calendar. Portugal is making a comeback with Portimao for 2027-2028.
