McLaren faces a disastrous outing at the Chinese Grand Prix, with both cars unable to start due to problems linked to the Mercedes power units. Both issues stem from the electrical component of the power unit but differ in nature. Stella expresses disappointment: “It’s frustrating. We go racing to be on track.” An ECU swap attempt on Norris’s car proves ineffective. Piastri’s issue is diagnosed more easily, yet it signals a similar electrical failure. Stella notes the simultaneous breakdowns are unusual but insists on unity and collaboration with Mercedes' High Performance Powertrains. Further inspections are planned to address these critical failures.
