Mikko Kozarowitsky, the second Finnish driver in Formula 1 history, made his debut at the 1977 Swedish Grand Prix. This milestone comes 34 years after Leo Kinnunen first represented Finland in the sport.
Kozarowitsky, who turns 78 today, signed with RAM March but faced tough competition from Boy Hayje. Despite the odds, he took to the track in Sweden, where expectations were low, and ultimately missed the qualifying cut. A second chance arose at the British Grand Prix, but a crash on his second lap resulted in a broken wrist.
