Max Verstappen's triumph at the Nürburgring turns to disappointment as he faces disqualification. The Dutch driver, along with Jules Gounon and Daniel Juncadella, dominated the NLS2 round in the No.3 Mercedes-AMG GT3, claiming pole position and a significant victory margin. However, post-race checks reveal a major breach: Winward Racing used seven sets of tires instead of the permitted six under Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie rules. Team Principal Christian Hohenadel acknowledges the error, stating, “The disqualification is tough to take. We made an internal error that left the stewards with no choice.” The victory is now awarded to Rowe Racing’s Dan Harper and Jordan Pepper, with Falken Porsche’s Tim Heinemann and Sven Müller moving up to second. Verstappen's strong performance is overshadowed by the harsh reality that in this series, perfection is mandatory.
