Anton Frondell, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 draft, is set to make his NHL debut with the Chicago Blackhawks this week. Coach Jeff Blashill confirms Frondell is en route from Sweden, aiming for a quick arrival. While it's unclear if he'll play alongside Connor Bedard, the 2023 first overall pick, Blashill guarantees Frondell will skate with a solid player. The Blackhawks signed Frondell to a three-year entry-level contract last summer, and he shined in the Swedish Hockey League with 20 goals as an 18-year-old. After securing a gold medal with Team Sweden at the world junior championships, he finished strong with Djurgardens. The Blackhawks, currently 26-31-12 and last in the league, want Frondell to get substantial ice time. Sacha Boisvert, another first-round pick, is also expected to join the team soon, pending immigration clearance.
