Santa Lucía de Tirajana honors five standout athletes from Club Deportivo Canakite Experiences for their exceptional performances in kitesurfing, windsurfing, and wingfoiling. Recognized are brothers Lorenzo and Leonardo Casati, prominent figures in Big Air kitesurfing, along with windsurfing siblings Alexia and Carlos Kiefer, and Mar de Arce, the Wingfoil Surf-Freestyle World Championship runner-up. The ceremony, led by Mayor Francisco José García López and Councillor Julio Jesús Ojeda Medina, emphasizes the athletes' vital role in showcasing the municipality on the global stage. Despite their youth, aged 16 to 21, they already have impressive international credentials. Training in Pozo Izquierdo, renowned for wind conditions exceeding 35 knots, offers them a competitive edge. Manuel Martínez, president of the club, underscores ongoing support for these athletes, aiming to secure high-level recognition for their achievements and ensuring continued representation of the Canary Islands in world wind sports.
