The Mallorca Flying 15 fleet makes a triumphant return to Palma Vela, marking their first designated class in years. This event is a critical training ground for upcoming European championships in October.
Over three days of racing, competitors faced unpredictable winds and tactical challenges in Palma Bay. Day one saw a promising sea breeze, while day two offered light, shifty conditions from the east, testing the sailors' adaptability. Unfortunately, day three was canceled due to inclement weather.
Mark Branagh and Victor Perez dominated the series, clinching victory with three race wins aboard Femme Fetale 4009. Josh Banks and Dylan Long followed closely in Osprey 3831, securing second place. The battle for third heated up between Brazilian teams, with Bernardo Arndt and Patrick Hallkvist in FFiskado 3650 edging out Ralph Henning and Ivo in a thrilling final race.
The event showcased a strong turnout, with several new sailors joining the competition. Fleet captain Rafa played a key role in logistics, while the Real Club Náutico Palma provided superb hosting. Mark Branagh expressed satisfaction with the fleet’s competitiveness and the challenges presented by the conditions, hinting at an even larger turnout for next year.
