Mark Richards and Palm Beach Motor Yachts team up with the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia (CYCA) to boost the next generation of offshore sailors. The partnership, set for three years, includes sponsorship of a CYCA Elliott 7 and training opportunities for Youth Sailing Academy (YSA) sailors aboard the newly acquired 100ft maxi Palm Beach XI. Richards, a nine-time Sydney Hobart Line Honours winner, emphasizes giving back to the sport. The announcement follows Palm Beach XI’s successful validation of its innovative C-foil configuration, foiling at nearly 30 knots in Sydney Harbour. CYCA Commodore Dr. Sam Haynes praises Richards as an iconic figure in sailing, highlighting the legacy this partnership will create for young sailors. Richards looks forward to mentoring YSA students and preparing them for future competitions, including the 2026 Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race.
