Tarik Skubal confirms he will make just one start for Team USA in the World Baseball Classic, regardless of the team's progress. The Detroit Tigers ace aims to maintain his spring training routine ahead of Opening Day. “I’m just making one start and getting back on track,” Skubal states. He struck out four in two scoreless innings during his Grapefruit League debut on Monday against the Minnesota Twins. Skubal is set to pitch for the Tigers again on Sunday against the Toronto Blue Jays before his WBC appearance in Houston next week. The 29-year-old left-hander, a two-time AL Cy Young Award winner, recently won his salary arbitration case, earning $32 million this season. Skubal is focused on balancing his commitment to Team USA while preparing for the Tigers’ season opener on March 26 in San Diego. The WBC runs from March 5-17 across multiple cities.
