Chase Elliott clinches his first NASCAR Cup Series victory of the season at Martinsville Speedway, outpacing Denny Hamlin by 0.565 seconds. Elliott's crew chief, Alan Gustafson, makes a pivotal call to pit early, positioning the No. 9 Chevrolet perfectly for the win. After a restart, Elliott seizes the lead from Ross Chastain and dominates the final 69 laps, despite Hamlin's earlier control of the race. Hamlin, who led 292 of the first 317 laps, struggles after a pit stop shuffle. Joey Logano takes third, followed by Ty Gibbs and William Byron. This win marks the first of the year for Hendrick Motorsports, the most successful team at Martinsville with 31 victories.
