Kyle Busch settles an $8.5 million lawsuit against Pacific Life Insurance Company. The two-time NASCAR champion and his wife, Samantha, reach an out-of-court agreement following allegations of being misled into buying indexed universal life policies marketed as safe retirement plans. The February 26 court filing reveals that terms remain confidential. The Busches accused Pacific Life of misleading them with false promises of guaranteed returns, claiming they lost over $8.5 million after paying more than $10.4 million in premiums. The lawsuit alleges the company prioritized commissions over the interests of policyholders and violated North Carolina's Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices Act. Pacific Life sought dismissal in January, arguing the lawsuit exceeded the three-year statute of limitations and that the Busches had signed documents acknowledging the terms of their policies.
