VJ Edgecombe will miss Wednesday's game against Utah due to a bruised lower back. The 76ers' star rookie suffered the injury from a hard fall during Tuesday’s matchup against San Antonio. After being fouled by Carter Bryant on a 3-point attempt, Edgecombe grimaced as teammates helped him up but managed to stay in the game, finishing with six points and going 2 of 3 from the free-throw line. With the 76ers trailing 78-53 at halftime, he did not return to play. Edgecombe, the No. 3 pick in the draft and MVP of the 2026 Rising Stars game, averages 15.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game, leading rookies in steals at 1.5. The 76ers will also be without Joel Embiid, who sits out the final game of a scheduled three straight games off with a strained right oblique.
