Cleveland's James Harden suffers a nondisplaced fracture in his right thumb during Tuesday's win over the New York Knicks. The injury is confirmed after X-rays on Wednesday. Harden is out for tonight's game against the Milwaukee Bucks, having been initially listed as questionable. Despite the setback, he plans to play through the injury and will undergo treatment and further evaluation. A hand specialist has determined that surgery is not necessary. Cavaliers coach Kenny Atkinson notes uncertainty about when the injury occurred. Since his trade from the LA Clippers on February 3, Harden averages 18.9 points, eight assists, and 4.6 rebounds in seven games. Prior to the trade, he averaged 25.1 points, 8.1 assists, and 4.8 rebounds over 44 games with the Clippers. The Cavaliers, currently 37-22, aim to maintain momentum without Harden, Donovan Mitchell, and Evan Mobley against the Bucks.
