Rockets star Kevin Durant is a game-time decision for Game 2 against the Los Angeles Lakers. This news could significantly impact the series as Houston seeks to bounce back after a tough loss in Game 1.
Durant missed the opening game due to a knee bruise sustained in practice, leaving the Rockets feeling his absence. Coach Ime Udoka remains optimistic, describing the injury as “hopefully ... a one-game thing.” Imaging revealed no structural damage, but Durant's mobility remains a concern. “The pain tolerance is one thing, but actually moving and feeling comfortable doing all the movements is going to be the biggest thing,” Udoka stated.
At 37, Durant led the Rockets with an average of 26 points per game during the regular season. His scoring prowess was sorely missed in the 107-98 defeat, where Houston shot under 40% from the field, despite taking 27 more shots than the Lakers.
