LeBron James confirms he shattered a backboard during a one-on-one game against his son, Bronny. After the Los Angeles Lakers’ 116-99 victory over the Brooklyn Nets, Bronny recounted the epic showdown. The elder James backed up the claim following the Lakers' 120-101 win over the Washington Wizards, where he posted 21 points, 10 rebounds, and 12 assists.
LeBron remembered the moment vividly. "I drove around him and dunked it. I didn't mean to shatter the glass, but I shattered it," he said. The game, held at their Miami home in 2014, saw Bronny, now 21, hit a few shots, but LeBron joked the outcome was never in doubt. "That's like Miami Bron -- that's like invincible Bron."
He then pondered whether they replaced the broken backboard. "I had to buy another one, or did I even buy another one?" he asked Bronny, who responded, "I don't think you did."
As fans eagerly await a rematch, LeBron averages 20.9 points, six rebounds, and seven assists in the current 2025-26 season.
