Miles McBride returns to the New York Knicks after hernia surgery but exits early in a 111-100 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. McBride plays just 11 minutes before colliding with Thunder guard Lu Dort while chasing a loose ball late in the third quarter. He leaves the game in pain and does not return. Knicks coach Mike Brown limited his minutes for the matchup. McBride, who started 14 games this season, boasts a career-high 42 percent shooting from beyond the arc and averages 12.9 points. He previously missed time with a high ankle sprain in December. The Knicks have thrived without him, going 20-8 in his absence and winning seven straight before a loss in Charlotte. If healthy, McBride is expected to enhance the Knicks' bench with his defensive skills and 3-point shooting, as the team ranks ninth in makes and fourth in percentage from deep.
