The Wizards’ roster includes seven players on rookie contracts and nine under 24, indicating a youthful foundation. However, they finished the season with the league's second-youngest roster, struggling with consistency. Despite the promising additions, their offense and defense ranked 29th overall, raising concerns about their ability to establish winning habits.
Financially, Washington projects nearly $80 million in cap space, even with Young’s hefty player option. They’re $19 million under the luxury tax and have a $15 million non-tax midlevel exception available, along with two significant trade exceptions.
