Prosecutors in the federal poker rigging case involving NBA Hall of Famer Chauncey Billups and former player Damon Jones plan to extend formal plea agreements to 12 of the 31 defendants. They express optimism about reaching deals with nine additional defendants before trial. All defendants face federal court Wednesday for a status hearing. Since the last hearing on November 24, defendants have reviewed evidence under a protective order. This evidence includes body-worn camera footage, arrest records, electronic evidence from seven devices and iCloud accounts, over 100,000 pages of financial and phone records, 800 pages of surveillance photos, and pole camera footage from 147 Lexington Avenue in Manhattan. The government has produced approximately seven terabytes of electronic data from individual defendants. The latest filing does not specify whether Billups is considering a plea deal. He remains on unpaid administrative leave from the Portland Trail Blazers and pleaded not guilty to charges in November.
