Immanuel Quickley misses the Raptors' Game 1 loss to the Cavaliers due to a right hamstring injury. This absence raises questions about Toronto’s depth and strategy in the postseason.
Quickley suffered a mild hamstring strain during the regular-season finale against the Brooklyn Nets. Head coach Darko Rajaković reports that Quickley is making progress and remains a possibility for Game 2 on Monday. This injury is another setback for Quickley, who previously missed eight games due to plantar fasciitis in his right foot.
During the regular season, Quickley stood out with averages of 16.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, and a career-high 5.9 assists across 70 games. He reached the 20-point mark in 20 games and achieved eight double-doubles, proving crucial to the Raptors’ success.
With Quickley sidelined, Jamal Shead steps up as the starting guard. Shead, in his second season, has started 12 games and averages 6.6 points and 5.4 assists per game. The Raptors face tough competition against the Cavaliers, who will also be without reserve forward Thomas Bryant due to a left calf strain. The stakes are high as Toronto looks to bounce back in Game 2 of this first-round series.
